ROSLINDALE – Dorothy Ann (Catino) “Dottie” Schoener, passed away Monday, July 15. Daughter to the late Anthony Catino Sr., and Celia (Russo). Dottie was raised in Roslindale, she was well read and attended Boston University. With her education she excelled at her enjoyments of reading and cheering on her beloved Boston Red Sox.
Dottie was a devoted wife to the late Robert and doting mother to Catherine DeMarco and the late Stephanie Schoener. Her happiest memories were being around with family and friends, often entertaining them with her musical talents. With Dottie’s love of friendship she always maintained her hospitality especially with her loyal and best friend from early childhood, Peggy Wallace of West Roxbury.
Along with her daughter Catherine and best friend Peggy, Dottie is survived by her son-in-law Vito DeMarco, her brother Eugene Catino and his wife Ann of Dedham, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also the sister of the late Anthony “Bunny” Catino, Jr.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Friday, July 19 in Sacred Heart Parish, 169 Cummins Hwy, Roslindale, at 11:30 AM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are respectively invited to attend. Visiting hours will be omitted.
Donations in memory of Dorothy maybe made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
